Baby Octopus “Grotesca” Style
Ingredients
  • 2.2 Lb Baby octopus
  • 3 Red bell peppers
  • 4 Green bell peppers
  • 2 o 3 onions
  • 1 garlic head
  • 2 liters. Fish broth
  • 10 toasted hazelnuts
  • 10 toasted almonds
  • 2 spoons chopped spicy parsley
  • Toasted saffron
  • White wine
Directions

In a pot with olive oil, sauté the baby octopus, once ready, add the garlic and the onions. After 5 minutes add the peppers and sauté everything togheter until it gets caramelized. Add white wine and once it is reduced add the fish broth a bit at a time.

This stew can be eaten like that or add potatoes or use it as a base for baby octopus rice.

This is a very traditional dish among the fisherman from the Costa Brava in Catalonia.
