Wild Mediterranean Anchovies Fillets Tin
We are proud to import some of the best quality oil-preserved Wild Mediterranean Anchovies Fillets to the USA.
Once you try the taste of a premium anchovy, you will wonder how you ever ate those salty, spiny, scratchy ones you find on pizza.
Mediterranean anchovy fillets are preserved in salt for a minimum of eight months where temperature and humidity are closely monitored. After a cleaning and selection process, they are separated into fillets, deboned, graded, and preserved in oil. These anchovy fillets are delicate, creamy and melt in your mouth.
Combine our delicious Mediterranean anchovy fillets in oil with other tasty appetizers.
Did you know
- The traditional method of processing and preserving Mediterranean anchovy fillets in oil is to gut and salt them in brine, allow them to cure, and then pack them in oil or salt. This results in a characteristic flavor and the flesh turning deep grey.
- Spanish boquerones (anchovies) are milder and the flesh retains a white color. In Roman times, anchovies were the base for the fermented fish sauce garum.
